So, recently, I was thinking about what it means to be a Christian…and how others view Christians. As I sat in solitude, thinking about this, the Holy Spirit revealed to me a vision, a snapshot…of what He sees in Christians today. Now I understand that some of you may already know this…and that is okay. This is something that I knew…sort of. And perhaps some of you need to have your eyes opened. Maybe you are not a Christian…and you do not desire to become one...and maybe…just maybe…I can help you understand the differences.
When I decided to walk in darkness and serve Satan…one thing became very clear to me:
There are two types of Christians…the true Christian…and the false Christian. Just like there was a true follower of Satan…and a poser. Even as a Satanist…this bothered me. Even then…you would have heard me say something like this, "If you are not going to go all the way, then don't even call yourself a Christian!"
What do I mean by, 'Go all the way'? What is the difference between a true Christian and a false Christian? Is there even a difference at all?! Many non believers will look at us, as a whole, and go, "Seriously? Is this what it means to be a Christian? Why would I want to be a Christian when I can be better than that?!"
There is something seriously wrong here…do you see it?
People tend to focus on the negative…for the negative screams louder than the positive. So when non Christians look at us…all they see are our shortcomings, not what God has done through us. And it is a major turn off for them.
I am ashamed to say that I know "Christians" who are self-righteous, damn-that-person-to-hell kind of people. And it makes me sick, because I know that non believers see this and go, "Yeah, right! How about YOU go to hell, you self-righteous whatever!" (sorry for the language…but I am trying to get a point across).
We, as Christians, are supposed to represent CHRIST to those who do not believe! So what are we doing?! What are YOU doing? Are you a true follower of Christ? Or are you a poser? Are you showing others the Way, the Truth, and the Life…or are you just in it for the ride, and damn all others who stand in your way?
Are you a Christian….or a christian? You see the difference here? One is serious…the other is not. One gives all and…and the other is just in it for luck's sake.
I personally know people, adults, who call themselves Christians simply because they don't want to burn in Hell after they die…but they do not want to take up their Cross and follow Jesus…which He told us to do if we followed Him! They do not want the responsibility that comes with the title of "Christian" (which…by the way…means 'little anointed one'). (Matthew 10:38-39; Matthew 16:24-27)
WAKE UP CALL. There will be Christians who Jesus turns away from the gates of glory BECAUSE THEY DID NOT TRULY FOLLOW HIM! (Matthew 25:34-46). This is Jesus' warning to those who follow Him…to those who think they are safe (you know who you are), but who truly are not.
To me…there is little difference between a poser Christian and non-believer. If you are not in it for God's sake, for God's glory…but for your own gain…then you need to reevaluate your life and really decide if you are a Christian at all.
These words are harsh…but I am not here to please people. I am here because God called me to be a voice…there will be those of you who slam me for my words, but you will feel the prick of conviction from the Holy Spirit. It is your choice to heed that or not.
I am fully aware that people are allowed to make their own choices whether or not they desire to follow Christ or not. But this is exactly it. People should not be turning away from Christianity if Christianity is centered on Christ and what He taught us, not on what we think and shove down other people's throats (which, admit it, many of us do…though we choose to see it that way or not).
You know what turned me to atheism in the first place? A Christian woman who said she loved Jesus abused me with words, calling me a stupid b**** and an a**hole and that I was worthless to her, a worthless human being! As a child, I heard this and went, "Really? And you say that you love God and that He loves me? If you represent God…and this is how you treat me…then how will God treat me?!"
Do you understand? Non Christians watch us "Christians" like a hawk! They watch us to see if we are truly representing Christ to the world…or if we are just representing ourselves.
I am sick and tired of this, "at least I'm going to heaven when I die!" It won't mean much to me if the atheist still dies in his unbelief…or the weary one makes that fatal cut, believing that there is no other way. That there is no more hope.
PEOPLE…CHURCH…WE REPRESENT THAT HOPE! So how are you going to carry the title, the anointing, of Christ?
What kind of Christian are you? And will you change your heart if you realize that you have been wrong this entire time?
